The meeting of Villa de Madrid, on February 22, will be repeated next season in the calendar of World Indoor Tourthe world indoor athletics circuit, which in 2023 will have more meetings than ever before (54) and will stop in 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia, announced World Athletics.
From the seven meetings that had the first edition in 2020, the global indoor athletics circuit grows with 24 in 2021, 33 in 2022 and now has 54 meetings, counting three categories: gold, silver and bronze.
Madrid, which this year hosts the World Indoor Tour final, will be the penultimate meeting in 2023. The circuit, which starts on January 27 in Karlsruhe (Germany), will end this time in Birmingham (UK) at February 25.
For the 2023 season, the scoring disciplines at the highest category meetings are: in women, 60 m, 800 m, 3,000 m/5,000 m, pole vault, triple jump, and shot put; and among men, 400 m, 1,500 m, 60 m hurdles and the high and long jump.
The three best results of each athlete will count towards the final score. The winners from each discipline will receive a $10,000 prizes and a special invitation for Glasgow Indoor World Championships 2024.
