Tsitsipas sealed the ticket to the semifinals at the expense of the local idol

the greek Stefanos Tsitsipasnumber 5 in the world ranking, met the predictions and confirmed his classification in the semifinals of the Stockholm tournament, after defeating the Swedish 7-5 and 6-3 this Friday Michael Ymer.

The Greek player, a Roland Garros finalist in 2021, used his greatest experience against Ymer, who managed to win just one of the eight break points he had in the first set.

In contrast to Tsitsipas, the number one seed in the tournament, who took advantage of two of six opportunities to break his rival’s serve and win the first round 7-5.

The Hellenic tennis player had less difficulties in the second set, where he only needed to break the Swedish player’s serve to win the set 6-3 and the ticket to the next round.

In the semifinals, Tsitsipas will face the winner of the match between American Frances Tiafoe, the tournament’s third favorite, and Finn Emil Ruusuvuori.
