Big door for Melero

The pilot from Albacete takes his fourth Spanish freestyle championship title in a crowded arena in Murcia

Murcia’s bullring hosted the grand final of the Spanish Freestyle Championship on Saturday night. The favorites were Remi Bizouard, Pedro Moreno and Maikel Melero, who became world champions three, four and five times respectively. And Melero played a good part as the lead contender for the title, eventually proclaiming himself champion of Spain for the fourth time. He delighted the thousands in the capital’s arena with improbable stunts, such as a frontflip or a double backflip that made people hallucinate.

Pedro Moreno and Remi Bizouard completed a podium that was already repeated a few weeks ago at the event in Granada. Maikel Melero from Albacete was crowned in Murcia in an unforgettable year for him. After two years of pandemic and restrictions, by 2022 the national freestyle will have filled the most arenas in the Spanish cities it has visited. And Melero was again the best.

In Murcia there was a show of lights, sounds and excellently executed tricks that amazed more than one. The five-time World Champion, Maikel Melero, drew all eyes after completing all his rounds perfectly and capping off a perfect season for him with his fourth Spanish Championship crown.

Maikel Melero showed all his world champion weapons in La Condomina and delighted the crowd who did not stop applauding all night. For those who have never seen a freestyle, what the riders can do in the air with their motorcycles is very interesting. In Murcia everything was; first-timers and lifelong fans of a sport that has come back stronger than ever.
