An image that says it all: This is how Alonso finished after the United States GP

Date:

Fernando Alonso ended in United States F1 GP which he himself considered his “best race of the year”. He taught a lesson that you don’t have to give up, that you always have to try no matter how difficult the situation is. He came back from penultimate position to 6th, although he eventually finished 7th. All this, after suffering a serious accident in take a walk in full straight, at high speed, with Alpine of the Spaniard who rode on two wheels until he hit the side protection barrier. Everyone assumed his career was over at that moment. Even Alonso thought, because of the damage that his car must have suffered in the face of such an impact. But he kept going and scored points when everything seemed to be lost on him.

});

Many emphasized the courage that the man from Oviedo had to quickly overcome the fear he suffered, in an accident in which he said he was “scared” because he did not know what the impact would be against those obstacle, and where he is also “The last 20 laps I was thinking about the accident.” Others, his faith, determination, and his never-give-up mentality. And the physical aspect is also remarkable.

The effort made by the Spaniard to finish the race in 7th position was titanic. Especially, after a severe accident, and above all, because of the impact he felt inside his cabin when his car hit the ground again. The Spaniard said he gave it his all, pushing himself hard on his return, as if every lap was qualifying, with no one in charge. “The truth is that the last few laps I was pushing like a time trial lap,” he said. And on top of that, it had to be done on a hard track because of the constant wind changes in many corners, which varied the car’s grip, and because of its many potholes. “It was the best race of the year, for sure. And it was also very physical with all the potholes and everything.”

x.setAttribute(“charset”, “utf-8”);
$(“.twitter-tweet”).closest( “span” ).append(x);
});

For all these reasons, it is not surprising that Fernando Alonso sat on one of his wheels to catch his breath, exhausted, melted. He left everything on the asphalt while thinking about what happened: “The last 20 lap I was still thinking about the accident and I just wanted to finish the race today,” he pointed out on ‘DAZN F1’. But most of all, he thanked fate because he was not in the infirmary. “I’m happy to be here talking to you because I could be in the medical center,” he commented in that sense after the race.
