The coach has already chosen the 55 players who will be part of the pre-list from which the last 26 players will come
The countdown to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar has already begun. Next week, Luis Enrique will hold a press conference at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas to announce the selection list for the national team. There will be a minimum of 23 players and a maximum of 26 players, of which a minimum of three must be goalkeepers.
The selector has already created a first sieve. A few weeks ago, Luis Enrique sent a pre-list to FIFA with 55 names. The content is private and while some names have been published, the 55 chosen by the technician are unknown. From there, the last 26 will come out. There are no options for those left out of this initial list unless serious injuries or illnesses occur to those who qualify. The deadline for taking in a new player for this type of situation ends one day before the team debuts in the World Cup. In other words, if La Roja suffered an injury, Luis Enrique would have until October 22 to replace the player. On the 23rd at 5pm, Spain will face Costa Rica at the Al Thumama Stadium.
The total number of players who will participate in the World Cup will be announced on November 15, one day after the deadline set by FIFA. The Spanish Federation is leading the way and will announce the call three days early.
The national coach, Luis Enrique Martínez, has announced the final list of players who will play the Qatar 2022 World Cup with Spain next Friday, November 11.
