6 new faces for the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team U23

Six new faces in a squad that will consist of fifteen riders in 2023. These are the rules of an EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team sub23 for next season, the project’s tenth since its creation. The Catalan Alex Garciathe Aragonese Raul Lopezthe Gipuzkoan Haimar Etxeberria and the italians Gabrielle Y Tommaso Bessega Y Luca Bagnara are the runners who joined the squad led by Rafa Diaz Just.

García (April 30, 2004) will face the jump to a new category from the junior EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team. Both Etxeberria (September 8, 2003) and López (December 12, 2001), for their part, come from Caja Rural-Alea. The Bessega twin brothers, Gabriele and Tommaso (February 18, 2004) will join UC Bustese Olonia junior in Busto Arsizio, an entity with which the Contador Foundation has a collaboration agreement. Luca Bagnara arrived from ASD SC Reda Mokador Pedale Chiaravallese youth (February 12, 2003).

The sub23 squad of the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team will be completed by Edoardo Alleva, Ramón Fernández, Arnau Gilabert, Antonio González, Sebastiano Minoia, Andrea Montoli, Fran Muñoz, Gabriele Raccagni and Pablo Uría. Both Gilabert and Montoli, facing their third year in the blue squad, will be veterans within the new project.

Rafa Díaz Justo, director of the sub23 structure: “It was a wonderful year, full of fun, with unforgettable moments. And with a lot of work on the men’s part from day one. Beyond the results, since the successes depend on many factors and are never easy, for 2023 we want to repeat the main lines of work, with a presence in the great races of the European category and polish the competitive this duality in Spain and Italy. The squad again shows a very varied profile, with fast cyclists and good climbers, and there is a balance between kids who will show more maturity next year and some very talented youngsters to join the project”.
