Spain are already training in Glasgow while waiting for Badosa

The Spanish women’s tennis team who will play next week in the final stage of Billie Jean King Cupformer Federation Cup, is gearing up in Glasgow for the competition to be held from November 8 to 13 at the Emirates Arena in the Scottish city.

The team summoned by the captain Annabelle Medina arrived in Glasgow on Friday except for Paula Badosa, which will land on Sunday morning. The rest of the quintet Nuria Parrizas, Cristina Bucsa, Aliona Bolsova and Rebeka Masarovawhich was conducted this Saturday, in a double session, in the tournament phase.

“We have a good feeling. On the first day it will be about having a lot of contact with the ball to adapt to the court and let the days pass until we compete. I want all the players to be ready to anyone jumps on the court. It’s a competition that is by teams. Five players and they’re all ready”, said the captain. Annabelle Medina.

Badosa, who has yet to make his debut for the Spanish team, will join the rest of the squad on Sunday. He is the leader of the Spanish group, with absences of Garbiñe Muguruza and the injured Sarah Sorribes. “As for any team, having a top 10 player is a point in our favor because he is a player with a lot of experience who has done a very good year and a half and is very motivated by the competition,” Anabel Medina said.

Spain enter the scene in Group C on Wednesday 9 November against Kazakhstan and on Thursday he will play the host team, Britain. The first classified will advance to the semifinals.
