RFEC is looking for new talent in Adapted Cycling

After the good reception and great success of the first edition, the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation will organize this year II Days for Recruiting Adapted Cycling.

The Spanish Adapted Cycling Team has established itself in recent years as one of the main references in the world with outstanding results in international competitions; a line of successes in which it is intended to provide continuity by betting on the search for new talents.

In this way, the RFEC will organize from December 9 to 11 in the Cuenca town of Tarancón new recruitment days with the aim of discovering athletes who can develop in the field of competition and join the national team in the medium and long term period. . A goal already achieved by one of the participants in the first days, Joan Sansó, who is visually impaired and who, after the Recruitment Days, became part of the Cofidis Team of Paralympic Promises, in collaboration with the Spanish Paralympic Committee , and who in 2022 has become a regular in the call-ups for the Spanish National Team, competing consecutively and even winning a medal at the World Cup.

To participate in the conference, a series of criteria must be met, detailed below.

Criteria for inclusion in the conference:

-Spanish nationality at the date of the conference.

-Eligible disabilities in adapted cycling according to RFEC regulations: physical disability (physical disability, cerebral palsy and acquired brain damage) and visual impairment (B1-B3).

-From 11 to 40 years old as of December 31, 2022.

-Motivation towards training and competition.

-Know how to ride a bicycle, handbike and/or tricycle.

Exclusion criteria for the conference:

-Competed in a Spanish adapted cycling championship (track and/or road).

-All those not exposed to the inclusion criteria.

To be selected for participation in the Conference, this form must be filled out by December 1 at 11:59 pm

Completing and submitting the form does not guarantee participation in the event. Sessions are limited to 20 participants. The RFEC technical team will manage the selection of these 20 finalists based on technical criteria.

The Royal Spanish Cycling Federation will cover the travel and accommodation costs of the 20 participants taking part in these recruitment sessions.
