Bautista: “I don’t have time to think about the match-point”

Date:

On Thursday at the Media Day of the Indonesian round in Mandalika of the Superbike World Championship, three riders who could still become world champions, Álvaro Bautista (Ducati), Toprak Razgatlioglu (Yamaha) and Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki) assured that they will not feel pressured against in this weekend’s triple date where the rider from Talavera de la Reina, who will turn 38 on November 21, will have his first match-ball against the previous champions of the tournament.

“Honestly, I’m not nervous. I am happy to be back here in Mandalika; I like the track layout and this hobby, they love racing. It’s my first time racing here with Ducati, so we have a lot to do, especially on Friday, to see the references, set up the bike and adjust the gears.”

“We have to work like we did in San Juan. We also have to put some rubber on the track; I think it will be an intense weekend for me. I don’t have time to think about the Championship or the fight. -point ; I think it’s better to think about the real problems we have and work as hard as possible. In Valencia, Ducati won the MotoGP Riders’ Championship, so getting a one-two would be great. It doesn’t matter if it is here or in Australia, the important thing we get”, explained Alvaro Bautista.

For Toprak Razgatlioglu, who is still defending the title, “there is no pressure or stress for me, maybe for Álvaro. I am very happy to come back here because I have good motivation and good memories from last year when we won the title; it was an amazing day. Now, let’s get back to the wins, because the Championship is not easy for me. We will focus on having a good race.”

“Regarding the Championship, we have a big disadvantage, but I’m not waiting for Bautista to fall. My goal is to try to get three wins. There’s no pressure or stress for me; maybe for Álvaro… it’s about to start, because it’s close he is in the Championship. In my opinion, he will not risk this weekend,” he stressed.

The legend Jonathan Rhea Ensuring that “we will try to recover the positive vibrations we had here last year. We have improved since last year, the problem is that others have too. We have to see where we are tomorrow; With the reappearance of the track , Friday was about understanding the conditions, spinning and cleaning the track, not making big changes to the setup.”

“My head is blank about any goal this weekend; thinking about the Championship is a bit ridiculous now. Álvaro has done an incredible job. I will focus on myself and go out there and will do my best this weekend.” , the Northern Irish were stressed from the Catalan team Kawasaki RT.
