At just 22 years old, the 1,500m Olympic and world 5,000m champion (and record holder) is considered one of the greatest runners of all time. In Barcelona he wants to extend his legacy by attacking the European top (which is also known as the world) of 5 km (the official designation when the 5000 meters are contested on the road, on asphalt, and not on tartan of an athletics track. ).
The participation of Jakob (8 times European champion between 1500, 3000, 5000 and cross) in the Cursa dels Nassos will be his debut in a competition in Spain and also in the 5 km modality. A good reference about his possibilities: he holds the European record of 5000 meters with 12:48.45. The youngest of the mythical Nordic saga will not be alone on the streets of Barcelona.
