England is traveling to Qatar on an LGBTQ+ plane

Date:

The English team traveled to Qatar this Tuesday on a Virgin Atlantic company plane called the “Rain Bow” and is the company’s LGBTQ+ symbol.

Gareth Southgate’s men left the training center in St. George’s Park on Tuesday for Qatar in this aircraft, which shows a picture of a man carrying a Union Jack flag and the colors of the rainbow flag.

This is one of the initiatives undertaken by England to denounce the human rights situation in the Qatari country, especially related to the LGBTQ+ community, which cannot make gestures of love or show its colors in Qatar.

Harry Kane, captain of the ‘Three Lions’, will wear the armband during the tournament in support of the ‘OneLove’ movement in support of the LGBTQ+ community. This gesture will be replicated by eight other captains of teams participating in the World Cup.

It remains to be seen whether the FA or the English team will be sanctioned during the World Cup for making this kind of gesture.
