England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has confirmed that Harry Kane is “fine” and the forward has trained as normal after he underwent a scan for an ankle problem.
Kane suffered a tough challenge on his debut against Iran and raised doubts about his right ankle, which needed to be assessed on Wednesday.
Pickford, who spoke to the press at the Al Wakrah training centre, confirmed that the Tottenham Hotspur player and captain of the England team is fine and has trained with the group. “I think he’s fine, he’s sick, but we have him on the pitch,” the goalkeeper said.
Regarding a potential injury to Kane, Pickford made sure that all the players who came out were giving their all and a clear example was that of Callum Wilson, who after coming off scored a goal and provided an assist. “We are all training and working hard. Harry is an incredible player, he is a leader and the captain in which we see ourselves reflected”, added the Everton player.
