Duda’s team signs autographs and plays with fans in Héroes de Cavite Square 24 hours before the most important game of the year
Those who wanted to meet the players of Jimbee Cartagena in person had a unique opportunity on Saturday. The whole squad was signing autographs for their fans for more than an hour and a half in the Héroes de Cavite square, very close to the city’s port.
The initiative was successful and many families came to the area where the players were to have their picture taken with them or to get a souvenir autograph. A few meters away, on the same esplanade, Rafa Fernández, the goalkeeper coach, and Duda, the melon coach, played small games on a makeshift field with children who dared to challenge them.
This was one of many initiatives that the melon club carried out this week with the aim of bringing its fans closer to the derby. There have been raffles for shirts, tickets and promotions so that anyone who wants to go to the Palacio de los Deportes today can do so for ten euros. At the box office they are 20.
In that act, Waltinho, a Jimbee center, referred to the meeting as “the most important of the year 2022.” In addition, he noted that his team “will have a little advantage playing at home” and that the main thing will be “to see who competes better”. He found it “an encouragement” to be able to be a leader.
