The Acciona Sainz XE team has run out of options to fight for the title of the 2022 season of the Extreme-E rally after finishing in the third and last final of the second semifinal played on the day.
In a four lap race, the Spaniard Carlos Sainz and Laia Sanz they finished behind the Genesys Andretti United and Neom McLaren Extreme-E teams.

“Everything has been very positive and we have to be satisfied with the result”, added the Spanish pilot, who added that his team had a good rhythm and fought “with the best”.
On the other hand, the X44 Vida Carbon team won the ‘Crazy Race’ and advanced to the final, leaving Rosberg X Racing, the current leader of the championship, with no chance of doing so.
So, the team with Spaniards as drivers Christina Gutierrez and in French Sebastien Loeb He maintains his chances of winning in the 2022 season, where he will need to score 18 points in the final race.
It will be contested by X44 Vida Carbon, Genesys Andretti United, Neom McLaren Extreme-E, Veloce Racing and Abt Cupra XE.
Extreme-E is an electric off-road car competition that takes place in areas affected by climate change.
Arguing at the decisive stage in Punta del Este, the competition wants to spread the work of Uruguay as a producer of renewable energy.
