Hovland reaffirmed the Hero World Challenge title and Rahm finished 8th

Date:

Victor Hovland25 years old and world number 12, has again proven in the Bahamas the title of Hero World Challenge after signing the final card of 69 strokes and leading the American by two scottie scheffler (68).

The Norwegian is the first player to repeat the feat from one year to the next after the American Tiger Woods in 2006 and 2007. The former world number 1, host of the tournament, also planned to participate in the Bahamas, but finally withdrew due to discomfort caused by plantar fasciitis.

For his part, the Basque Jon Rahm5th in the rankings, finished 8th, 11 shots behind the champion after a round of 71 with six birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey.

Rahm started the final day nine strokes behind Hovland and, therefore, it was almost impossible for him to reach the first place in this unofficial tournament on the PGA Tour, where he competes by invitation and where brings together 20 of the world’s best golfers every year.

The Spanish golfer got off to a great start with four birdies in his first seven holes (2, 4, 5, 7), but two consecutive bogeys (8.9) halted his streak and certainly put a damper on any comeback attempt.
