Jude Bellingham, one of the best players of the World Cup so far, spoke to British network ITV after England’s 3-0 victory over Senegal in the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar.
“The first 35 minutes were tough. They were very compact and hard to get forward. It was one of those games where you have to score the first goal. After that we knew we were in a good position,” Bellingham said.
“We showed that we can score goals and be good when it matters. And we also left the goal to zero again,” he continued.
In Henderson’s defense
Bellingham, after his great game, came out to defend his teammate Jordan Henderson, the starter in the last two games.
“He was brilliant today. I’ve seen some of the nonsense said about him and it’s nonsense. He’s very underrated technically. He played well in another great game and scored a very important goal. Period that people may respect him”.
