Lorca’s coup

Date:

Deserved victory for a team close to combat positions for direct promotion

Lorca Deportiva took a deserved win against a Racing team that wasn’t having its best day. The visitors were victorious thanks to Albert’s lone goal in the second half, in a match where the home side failed to arrive against a solid side who scored three vital points to reach the Second Federation promotion playoff goal.

Sergio Alicil’s men faced the game as a final against a Racing team arriving at the best moment of the season. The one who needed victory the most was the one who sought it the most and finally got it. In a first half in which the visitors were superior, chances from both sides did not come.

The second half started with the same dynamic, a more intense Lorca who shot the ball on the post via Cellou in the first minutes. It was the visitors’ first warning. In the 64th minute of the game, Albert, one of the best in the game, fired a kick into the net from the edge of the area that opened the scoring.

Racing was unable to comment despite Perona’s changes. The clearest opportunity was against the local team frustrated by an offside refereeing error as Loren was left holding hands with the visiting goalkeeper. The player was expelled from school and ruled offside. Finally a deserved victory in the field of Las Torres de Cotillas for a Lorca approaching the fighting positions for direct promotion.
