The organizers of the Formula One World Cup announced Wednesday the six Grand Prix that will feature sprint races in the 2023 seasonthe year in which double the number of threes played in 2021 and 2022.
The GPs of Azerbaijan, Austria, Belgium, Qatar, the United States and Sao Paulo were selectedfor having “the most suitable circuits for the format”.
In these tests, the classification goes on Friday and a 100-kilometer race is held on Saturday to establish the grid for the Grand Prix on Sunday.
According to the organizers, Weekend sprint races see “very high” crowds than others.
Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Formula One, noted that It is expected to bring fans an extra dose of action with six new sprints in 2023“including the first at the Austin speedway,” he said.
The World Motor Sport Council gave approval in September for the expansion to six sprints, the venues of which were made public this Wednesday.
