Pepe, defender of the Portuguese team, suffered a “left arm ulna fracture” this Saturday during the quarterfinal match of the Qatar 2022 World Cup against Morocco at the Al Thumama stadium.
The Portuguese international, who played the entire match and even had one last chance with a header, underwent “post-match tests at a hospital in Doha which confirmed a fracture.”
At the age of 39, Pepe bid farewell to what will be the final World Cup of his career after Portugal were eliminated against shock Morocco in the quarterfinals of Qatar 2022. Now, almost certainly, he will be in no position to play for Porto when the Primeira Liga resumes on December 28.
