Mexican César Ramos has been appointed to direct Wednesday’s second semifinal of the Qatar 2022 World Cup between France and Morocco at the Al Bayt stadium in Al Khor.
Ramos, born 38 years ago in Culiacán and international since 2014, has led three games in the tournament, Denmark-Tunisia (0-0) and Belgium-Morocco (0-2) in the group stage, and Portugal- Switzerland (6-1) in the round of 16, where he will referee Walid Regragui’s team for the second time in the tournament.
Its line judges are the Mexicans Alberto Morín and Miguel Hernández; the Venezuelan Jesús Valenzuela will be the fourth referee; and the man in charge of VAR is Canadian Drew Fischer; the AVAR the Colombian Nicolás Gallo; the VAR for the Brazilian Neuza Back’s offside; and VAR support the American Armando Villarreal.
In the final 2018 World Cup in Russia, he presided over three other matches: Brazil-Switzerland, Poland-Colombia and Uruguay-Portugal.
