The coach of Manchester Utd, Erik Tenhagbelieves that the central Harry Maguire do very well World Cup and urged him to replicate his good work for England at the club, when the Premier League resumes.
Maguire lost his starting job at United in August, but the 29-year-old Englishman started all of England’s games in Qatar, where they were knocked out in the quarter-finals by France. “He’s obviously good enough to play at the highest level,” Ten Hag said at the team’s training camp in Spain.
“He had a period in Manchester where he played poorly and then of course there were difficulties. But in England he had a good game most of the time. We want him to do the same in Manchester. I think he had a very good World Cup. He was very consistent. When he plays with confidence like he is doing now, he is a very important player for us and that is what we all hope for.”
United return to action on December 21 with a League Cup tie at home to Burnley before hosting Nottingham Forest in the league on December 27.
