The headquarters of UCI Cyclocross World Cup – Benidorm Costa Blanca 2023which next Sunday, January 22, will mean the return of the best cyclocross in the world to Spain after 11 years of absence, will be the host. on Saturday 21 the first edition of BenidormCX, a national test open to the participation of all cyclocross practitioners. This second event was born from the collaboration between Momparler Cyclingorganizer of the World Cup round, and the Valencian Community Cycling Federation (FCCV).
“When I was young, I was blown away by the opportunity to compete on a Cyclocross World Cup circuit”asserted Pascual Momparler, head of Momparler Cycling. “That’s why this BenidormCX makes me especially excited: because it will allow the main categories to ride the Parques de Foietes and El Moralet circuit a day before the professionals. I also like to think of that mother who will participate in the Teacher’s exam and perhaps, by her example, encourage her children to be fond of cycling. It will be like playing in the Mestalla the day before the Valencia-Real Madrid game. We want people to compete and enjoy with us, so this UCI Cyclocross World Cup – Benidorm Costa Blanca is for everyone”.
“The idea arose seeing the importance and impact that the UCI Cyclocross World Cup would have. – Benidorm Costa Blanca worldwide and also in the region”, explained José Enrique Gutiérrez, president of FCCV. “The best specialists in the world come and we want to give our cyclists the opportunity to compete in the same place and with the same infrastructure, something amazing, especially for the little ones.”
