Czesław Michniewicz has stopped being coach of Poland after the federation announced his dismissal after being eliminated in the round of 16 of Qatar World Cup 2022.
“Michniewicz will leave the position of coach of the national team on December 31, 2022 due to his lack of vision regarding the operation and future of the team”the Polish Federation explained in a statement on its own website.
A decision that is drawing intense attention as Poland have not made it past the group stage of a World Cup since 1986. Michniewicz, 52, replaced Paulo Sousa almost a year ago, in January 2022, after the departure its to take the reins of Flamengo from Brazil. During this period, the coach has so far collected five wins, three draws and five losses.
