Women’s European Tour 2023 announces record prize money calendar

The Ladies European Tour continue to expand women’s golf around the world 2023 and its players will compete for at least €35 million, a record total prize pool. The LET announced this Thursday that the 2023 calendar will consist of 30 official events, including the Solheim Cup on the Costa del Sol.

The 2023 global calendar will take the LET to 21 different countries, starting with the Magical Kenya Ladies Open, in the first week of February. The LET returns to Morocco for the first time since 2019 for the Lalla Meryem Cup, which will be played on the Blue Course of Royal Golf Dar Es Salam alongside the PGA Tour Champions hassan II on the Red Course of the same club.

The Aramco Saudi Ladies International at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City, in Saudi Arabia, will feature the strongest field in its history, including 60 LET players and 50 players in the top 300 in the world ranking, after it was announced by tournament its commitment to women’s golf by increasing the prize fund to $5 million.

South Africa will host two events in March, the Joburg Ladies Open and the South African Women’s Open in Cape Town.

The LET returns to Europe in May for the Jabra Ladies Open at the world-famous Evian Resort Golf Club in France, followed by the second Aramco Team Series event at Trump International in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The Belgian Ladies Open will be followed in June by the Swedish Helsingborg Open, which returns to the calendar for the first time since 2015. Next in Sweden, the LET moves to Ullna Golf Club for the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed, where players will try to follow in the footsteps of Linn Grant, who earlier this year became the first woman to win a DP World Tour event with a mixed field in the co-sanctioned tournament.

From there, the LET moves to Berlin for the Amundi German Masters, followed by the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open, and then the Ladies Open of Pickala, in Helsinki.

In mid-July, the third round of the Aramco Team Series will again be played at the Centurion Club near London. In the third week of July, the Open de La Sella (Alicante), for 1 million euros, will be the first tournament on Spanish soil. and will come to replace Terramar’s Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open, which has temporarily disappeared from the calendar.

In July and August, the Tour will host four LPGA co-sanctioned tournaments, opening in France with the $6.5 million Amundi Evian Championship, the first Grand Slam on the LET calendar, followed by the 2-year Women’s Scottish Open. million dollars, the British Open, 7.3 million dollars. At the beginning of September, the Hilversumsche Golf Club in the Netherlands will host the Big Green Egg Open, followed by the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open again at the beautiful Golfpark Holzhauern.

From September 22 to 24, the Solheim Cup, which will mix the 12 best players from the United States against the 12 best players in Europe, will be held at Finca Cortesín, in Casares (Málaga, Andalusia).

The Lacoste Ladies Open de France returns to Golf Barriere de Deauville, ahead of the fourth round of the Aramco Team Series, which will be held in Hong Kong in October.

The Hero Women’s Indian Open will precede the fifth round of the Aramco Team Series, in Riyadh, in early November.

Finally, the 2023 season will conclude with Spain’s Andalucía Costa del Sol Open at the Real Club de Golf Las Brisas, in Marbella, where the winner of the Race to the Costa del Sol will be crowned.
