7,000 runners, the goal of San Silvestre de Canarias

The end of the year is near and with it comes the traditional march through the capital. The St. Sylvester, which will be held on December 31 at The Gran Canarian palms to say goodbye to the year, it hopes to exceed 7,000 participants. For now It has 6,635 runners, but registration is still open.

San Silvestre of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria hopes to rise this year the happy, fun, helpful, family and tight environment, after two virtual editions due to the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, every corner has a story to tell.

This is the case of Luis Ortega. Born in Palma de Mallorca, he has the distinction of being the oldest runner to participate. Among his wishes are the Canary Islands: “I really want to say goodbye to the year in my second home. It’s not the first time I’ve done the San Silvestre LPGC and there are few races as real and as fun as this one.”

San Silvestre LPGC 2022 will have Philharmonic The Grandchildren of KiKathe comedian kike perez and the journalist Kiko Barroso as godfathers and godmothers. In addition, the race organized by Top Time Events will have five NGOs that will allocate part of the funds raised.
