The Serbian Novak Djokovic, first seed, did not disappoint against the Russian Daniil Medvedev, third seed, and will fight for the title in the tournament in Adelaide (Australia) against the American Sebastian Korda, who was classified due to the injury of the Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka.
The Balkan added his fourth consecutive victory against the Russian thanks to his big percentage on the first serve and his usual success in the rest to calm the game of the seventh player in the ATP ranking and play his last 131.
Djokovic knew how to silence Medvedev’s reaction attempts, failing to capitalize on several break points and raising the particular balance between the two players to 9-4. Two broken serves, one in each set, were enough to resolve the semifinal 6-3 and 6-4 in one hour and 24 minutes.
Earlier, Korda secured his presence in the grand final – the fifth of his career – after Nishioka withdrew due to physical problems when the score was in favor of the American 7-6(5) and 1-0.
