Pep Guardiola, coach of Manchester City, praised the career of Gareth Bale, who announced his retirement on Monday, saying that now “he will be a fantastic golfer”.
“What a footballer,” said Guardiola this Tuesday in a press conference. “He had a great career and won many titles. He represented Wales more than 100 times. Now he will be able to become a fantastic golfer,” added the coach, who is open to inviting her to play with him: “I used to be too busy, now it’s okay. I’ll invite you again.”
Having tried to sign him at one point in his coaching career, Guardiola admitted that Bale was always “very expensive”.
The Welsh footballer announced his retirement on Monday after a 17-year career in which he won, among many other titles, five Champions Leagues.
