Conflict in Serbia between captain and coach: “I am the leader, the best and I should have played 90 minutes”

Date:

Serbia started the European Cup defeat against England 0-1 and there was a fierce confrontation between their captain, Dusan Tadicand his coach, Dragan Stojkovic.

The coach decided to leave Tadic start and don’t let him in until an hour into the game. The footballer did not like it, who comfortably left after the crash.

“I am the leader and captain of this team. I talked to the coach. I am the best player in this group. He should have played the full 90 minutes. It would have been different if it was on the grass from the start, but oh well. If you want Dusan Tadic play 30 minutes, that’s why,” he said.

StojkovicFor his part, he justified the substitution of the players by assuring that “it was my decision for tactical reasons, nothing more. It was my point of view and there is no controversy, there is no space for debate.”
