As soon as he got his probationary license, he was gone again: On Sunday evening, a 17-year-old raced in his Golf at 156 km/h near the Voralpenkreuz on the Innkreis highway, where only a speed of 100 km/h is allowed.
Police officers carried out speed measurements along the A8 on Sunday evening around 9:30 p.m., including at the Voralpenkreuz junction. In a place where “only” 100 km/h is allowed, a Golf raced past.
There was a 17-year-old from the Kirchdorf district who was driving along the highway at a speed of 156 km/h. The young speed demon lost his probationary license and was not allowed to continue his journey. He will be reported to the Wels-Land district council.
Seizure of cars
The 17-year-old was “lucky”: according to the new speed law, the seizure of a car will be investigated if the speed outside built-up areas exceeds 70 km/h. The young man was driving 56 km/h too fast.
