Blowing up all the Christians and turning Austria into a caliphate – these were the plans of two young people in Bruck an der Mur. For these crimes, they were legally sentenced to unconditional prison terms in June 2023. But: you continue walking through the district capital of Styria.
We remember with shudder the frightening case of the two radicalized young people who were convicted of terrorism by the Leoben Regional Court at the ages of 15 and 16. Specifically, they planned to blow up the new high school in Bruck an der Mur – we reported. Their goal: kill all Christians and turn Austria into a caliphate.
“Allah forgives us”
They searched the Internet for instructions for explosives and silencers, sent propaganda and beheading videos and decorated their profile pictures with IS flags. In a chat group, the 16-year-old bragged about his plans to attack his younger friend’s class, saying he already had swords, knives and a gun in stock.
In June last year, the two boys with North Macedonian and Chechen roots had to appear before the Leoben regional court. However, they showed no remorse. On the contrary, Allah would have forgiven them and they would later go to Paradise. They were ultimately sentenced to two years in prison, eight months of which were suspended.
Boys want to have anklets
Concerned citizens have now contacted the “Krone”. They think they saw the terrorist boys in the middle of the city, despite their mandatory prison sentences. When asked at the Leoben regional court, their fears were confirmed: “Yes, they are at large. The two requested a detention order, which was granted.”
They would not explain why this was approved due to the youth of the two perpetrators. However, both have requested ankle bracelets to serve their sentences. “The older man’s application has already been legally rejected, while the younger man’s application has not yet been decided,” the court said.
