Spanish clubs will receive 437,500 euros for the Eurocup

The Spanish clubs that contributed players to the selection for England Women’s Euro Cup last summer they will receive 437,500 euros from UEFA’s first benefit program for them, which will distribute a total of 4.3 million euros to 221 teams from 17 federations.

Out of a total of €4,316,500 in the program, the largest amount goes to clubs in England (€879,500), with Germany next (€744,500), France (€439,000), Italy (€395,000), Sweden (€307,000), Norway (€170,000), Netherlands (€168,500), Belgium (€151,000), Northern Ireland (€130,000), Switzerland (€120,000), Portugal (€200,000), Iceland (€70,500), Austria (€64,000), Denmark (€30,000) and Scotland (€10,000).

The 2022 Women’s Euro Cup, where England won the title against Germany, is the first where UEFA has launched the benefit program for the tournament’s clubs, recognizing the contribution of clubs and their players to its success and a sign of the organization’s commitment to the development of all aspects of women’s football.

Payments are allocated to European clubs whose players are selected for the competition and the total amount paid is calculated based on the number of days the internationals are released for the finals, which includes ten days of preparation, and the total number of days they participated, including an additional day of travel.

UEFA explained that each club is guaranteed a minimum payment of 10,000 euros for each of its players participating in the Eurocup from ten days before their first match until their elimination.

In cases where a player is replaced during the tournament due to injury or signs up with a new club during the competition, the club(s) concerned will receive a prorated fee.
