The scoring drought comes with the new year

Date:

Yeclano, Mar Menor, Cartagena B and UCAM have not scored a goal since the league’s return in 2023

The start of 2023 for the teams of the Murcian Second Federation was marked by the absence of goals in all their matches. Neither Yeclano nor Mar Menor, Cartagena B and UCAM managed to pierce the opponent’s goal in 180 minutes of play.

Conflicts between teams from the region are common in the new year. Yeclano, fourth with 28 points, faced Cartagena B at La Manga and Mar Menor at La Constitución, two clashes that ended in a goalless draw. Mar Menor himself, fifth with 25 points, and who did not get further than a goalless draw against the Barça side, arrived in Yecla after the 0-0 draw against UCAM.

The subsidiary of Cartagena B, eighth with 24 points, not only lost the goal of Adrián Hernández’s team after returning from vacation, but lost 2-0 last weekend during their visit to San Roque de Lepe while the UCAM, the last of the teams from Murcia (ninth with 22 points) also could not score at home against Recreativo de Huelva.

The goal drought of the Murcian teams has also reached the teams of the region occupying higher categories. Cartagena de Segunda lost in the league on the first day after returning from vacation against Granada and a week later they did not expect a 0-0 draw against Huesca. Real Murcia, for its part, got no further than a goalless draw at the Enrique Roca against Amorebieta before going down 1-0 at the Pepico Amat in Elda seven days later, a game in which they also failed to score.
