The City Council of Cartagena gives a subsidy of 110,000 euros to the club

Date:

Jimbee Cartagena, Cebé, Algar Surmenor and UCAM Atletismo Cartagena share 370,000 euros from the already approved budgets for 2023

The five most representative clubs in the municipality will receive 480,000 euros from the state treasury in 2023. The City Council of Cartagena allocates that portion of the municipal budgets to assist Efesé, Jimbee, Cebé, Algar Surmenor and UCAM Atletismo Cartagena in their various objectives as a grant.

Cartagena is the only football team in the Region of Murcia competing in the professional category. Especially in the second rung, the Second Division. For this reason, the City Council allocates 110,000 euros to the club led by Paco Belmonte, according to municipal sources consulted by LA VERDAD.

The subsidy for 2023 is slightly lower for Efesé than last year. The albinegro team thus received a subsidy of 140,000 euros. As the owner of the Cartagonova stadium, the city council has already paid for the LED lighting requested by LaLiga and has agreed with Belmonte on, among other things, the transfer of the municipal field from San Antón to the sports city. In any case, the long-term allocation of this facility is still pending.

Jimbee Cartagena is the club that receives the most funding when competing in the elite of national indoor football. The melon growers will receive 180,000 euros, an amount that is the same as last year. The Cebé also repeats the 100,000 euros, in this new season at LEB Plata basketball. The total budget of the team is just over 300,000.

In its goal to climb to the highest category of women’s volleyball, the contribution to Algar Surmenor grows from the 30,000 received in 2022 to 50,000 this year. This club and the basketball club are part of the multi-sport divisions of Efesé. The UCAM Athletics Cartagena maintains the 40,000 euros.

More than half a million euros (510,000) will go to the rest of the associations and sports clubs in the municipality. Also 32,000 to top athletes and 40,000 to improvements in facilities managed by the clubs.
