Volta 102 returns to Lo Port, the monumental peak of the Terres de l’Ebre

The stage of the 102nd edition of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya in Terres de l’Ebre will have as a great before the last climb to Dear Mont, one of the hardest and most impressive ports in Catalonia. So far, the winners of Mont Caro have been led by two Colombians, ALily Chizabas (1985, with Kelme) and the myth Lucho Herrera (1991, Apple Postobon), and the former world champion Alejandro Valverde (2017, with Movistar). On the next occasion, the range of possible winners will be very wide due to the wonderful participation that Volta registers year after year.

The start of the stage will have its stage in one of the most classic and historic towns of the Volta: Tortosa. The capital of Terres de l’Ebre has been linked to the Volta as a starting or ending stage on up to 68 occasions, especially in the 20th century.

The route of the stage will be determined in the coming months, and will appreciate an ideal terrain not only for the competition, but also for the practice of sports cycling, thanks to the quantity and quality of the quiet roads that exist, that run near the river, sea and mountains.

The 102nd edition of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya will take place from March 20 to 26, 2023, where the best teams in the world will seek to succeed on the list of winners in Colombian from BORA-Hansgrohe Sergio Higuita.
