In his daily video posted on social networks, Zelensky assured that “there is no neutrality in a war like this. And we already know how tyrannies try to use sport to serve their ideological interests. It is clear that any neutral flag of Russian athletes is stained with blood. “
This is a reference to the possible reunification of Russian athletes under a neutral flag at the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee, has requested in a few weeks and which the IOC has opened this wednesday the door.
“We cannot but be disappointed by the statements of the current head of the International Olympic Committee. I have spoken to him several times and he still has not told me how he intends to protect sport from war propaganda if he reintroduces athletes of Russia in international competitions.”
