UD Las Palmas took advantage of Éibar’s failure and regained the lead in LaLiga SmartBank after beating SD Huesca 1-0 with the odd goal early in the second half, after a first half in which both teams had more chances.
Both teams, true to their contrasting styles, had excellent options to get on the scoreboard in that first act. The first three were led by Kanté, thanks to overconfidence from central defenders Eric Curbelo and Coco, and in the 15th minute with a goal disallowed for offside, after Joaquín’s cross.

Then it was left-back Vilarrasa who broke up some great individual play by Joaquín with a high shot, far superior on the right wing in his rivalry with Sergi Cardona.
Las Palmas took almost half an hour to test Andrés Fernández and for this Moleiro needed to enter the scene, with two quality passes to Marc Cardona and Jonathan Viera, but his shots at the near post found a good response from the goalkeeper, who eventually saved the post with an unlikely backheel from Viera himself.
After the break, everything changed, with a corner from Pejiño released by Cristian Salvador, and Eric Curbelo, up against Florian Miguel at the near post, ended up pushing the ball into the net almost unwillingly. A strange goal, but worth leading.
Marc Cardona conceded a second local goal in the 66th minute with a shot that went wide when he was alone near the penalty spot and, moments later, Ziganda tried to revive the game with a triple change that no effect, so eventually Carrillo too. inserted to play as an attack reference.
The only option Huesca had for Huesca came due to a serious mistake by Álvaro Valles when trying to avoid a corner kick in the 87th minute, leaving the ball inside the field, but Carrillo, with a bad pass, was not found. a teammate in the area to shoot without the goalkeeper under the sticks.
