Monchi welcomes Bryan Gil to Seville

Date:

Barbateño Bryan Gil was the star of this Monday in Sevilla arriving in the Seville capital from London to become the fourth signing for the white team after the arrival of Loïc Badé, Lucas Ocampos and Pape Gueye.

Sevilla closed the deal with Tottenham on Sunday for the loan of the player who left the Nervionense youth academy a year and a half after selling him to the Premier for around 25 million along with Erik Lamela’s pass. Today he returned to his home, welcomed by Monchi at the San Pablo airport.

Bryan Gil, loaned by Sevilla to Leganés and to Eibar, where he shone under Mendilibar, reached full international status and became a member of the team that won Olympic silver in Tokyo under Luis De la Fuente. Later, Tottenham snapped up his services, but he has yet to settle with Spurs, who loaned him to Valencia and now the same on his return to Seville.

Bryan Gil has been Sampaoli’s target since his arrival, acknowledged by the Argentine, who according to his account called him even when he was at Olympique de Marseille to try to sign him. The man from Cádiz did not trust Antonio Conte in December and Sevilla moved forward with a negotiation for his loan, but in January he started playing and convinced his coach, which aborted his departure. Sevilla then chose to bet on Ocampos, but when the Quilmes winger returned to Nervión, Tottenham’s signing of Danjuma changed Bryan Gil’s situation again.

The player passed a medical examination on Monday and Sevilla must announce his inclusion, as well as that of Franco-Senegalese Pape Gueye.
