This is a macro operation in the provinces of Burgos, Logroño, Pamplona, Zaragoza, Málaga and Madrid against radical groups in the field of violence in sports
The National Police have arrested 64 people in the provinces of Burgos, Logroño, Pamplona, Zaragoza, Málaga and Madrid over their alleged membership of violent radical groups in the football sphere and charged with rioting and public disorder.
The events took place last Sunday, November 27 in Burgos on the occasion of the celebration of the football match between the teams Burgos CF and Real Zaragoza. Hours before the start of the match, there was a major riot near the El Plantío stadium in which more than fifty members of the ultragroups Resaca Castellana, from Burgos, and Ligallo, from Zaragoza, confronted each other with dangerous means, threatening the social order and endangering people’s lives and integrity.
The officers discovered indications of a prior planning of the violent confrontation in which other violent groups also participated, such as Viejo Fondo from Logroñés, the Frente Bokerón from Málaga and members of the Indar Gorri group. According to the researchers, the two main ultragroups in the confrontation, Ligallo and Resaca Castellana, have been at the forefront of other altercations in recent years.
Alliances and animosities exist between the various radical groups, often culminating in the well-known ‘Drakas’, left among violent fans to confront each other.
The operation was led by the Burgos Investigating Magistrate Number Two and coordinated by the General Information Commissioner. The Provincial Information Brigades of Burgos, Logroño, Zaragoza, Pamplona, Málaga and Madrid participated and also received the support of the National Sports Office (OND).
