Neal Skupski and Dan Evans they lost this Saturday of double 6-4 in Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah and caught up Great Britain 1-2 against Colombia in the Davis Cup series.
Voices of support from the fans for Cabal and Farah were in vain as the British quickly began to define the match.
The erratic Colombian played in Cota, a town near Bogotá.
In the first set, the visitors did not catch up on the scoreboard and settled for a 6-4 lead, which could have been bigger.
For the second set, the precision of the British became more evident when they scored points and even overcame the hole with two double faults that Cabal and Farah did not take advantage of.
Great Britain came within one point of winning the series and securing a place in the group stage of the Davis Cup finals in September.
After the doubles game, the two individual matches continue on the schedule. The first will pit Nicolás Mejía against Cameron Norrie.
If Norrie wins, Great Britain will reach 3 points and there will be no need for a clash between Nicolás Barrientos and Dan Evans.
On the first day of competition, Norrie defeated Barrientos 6-2, 7-5, while in the opening game of the series, Mejía surprised by defeating Evans 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
