Carlos Sainz who was needed withdrew from the Dakar after the ninth stage this year after a spectacular accident, shared a message this Thursday afternoon to update his status. He did this to share positive news.
Sainz then the vertebrae T5 and T6 are fractured. However, he reports that they are stable and, therefore, it is possible to perform specific work to try to avoid the operating room. After weeks of focusing on that goal, the Madrid pilot announced that he was able to avoid surgery.
“Many thanks to Indiba and Ana, who have been my colleagues for the last three weeks. Thanks to work I don’t have to go through the operating room. This is something that makes me very happy because it will speed up the recovery. Positive news”, shared Sainz in a message on social networks.
In this way, Sainz will continue to perform specific tasks to try to get over his injury as soon as possible. The pilot hopes that after this diagnosis he can reduce the deadlines until he returns to competition.
