Rune and Sinner, one step away from meeting in the Montpellier final

Two of the main references of the future of tennis, the Danish Holger Rune and the italian Jannik Sinnerthey played their respective matches and were just one step away from the final of the tournament of montpellier.

If all goes according to plan, the Montpellier tournament will have one last full of incentives. Sinner, second favourite, defeated his compatriot Lorenzo Sonego 6-4, 6-2 and will seek his first final of the year against Arthur Fils, who beat Quentin Halys in the French duel 7-6 (3) and 6-3.

Rune, the first seed, needs solvency in the ‘tie break’ to overcome local Gregoire Barrere. The world number seven won 7-6 (2) and 7-6 (5) and met American Maxime Cressy who sprung the surprise of the day by beating Croatian Borna Coric, third favourite, 7-6 ( 2) and 6-4.
