South African Ockie Strydom produced the final ‘perfect’ round, with nine ‘birdies’ without a miss, for a card of 63 shots that allowed him to win the Singapore tournament with 19 shots under Par.
Spaniard Alejandro del Rey, who came out on top in the final round, started his turn like a bang with three ‘birdies’ in the first three holes, until a ‘double bogey’ on hole 6 stopped his projection , finished with 71 shots in the round and is in third position in the tournament with -15 shots, his best ranking in his first year on the DP World Tour (European Circuit).
For Strydom, this is the second victory on the circuit after the one achieved on December 11 at the Alfred Dunhill tournament.
After the South African, Finn Sami Valimaki took second place with 18 shots under par. Along with Del Rey and also in third position are German Marcel Schneider and South Korean Jeunghun Wang.
The other two Spaniards who made the cut, Adrián Otaegui and Santiago Tarrió, were far behind, the former in 30th place and the latter in 58th.
