scottie scheffler26 years old, regained the world number 1 after revalidating his title in Phoenix Openwhere just one year ago this Monday the American started his circuit record of PGA.
That day began two remarkable months for him as he achieved another triple victory, the Arnold Palmer Invitationalhe World Match Play and, above all, his first grand slam within Augustan Masters. Obviously, it was that string of games and results that propelled him to the world throne where he will be again this Monday, displacing the Northern Irishman. Rory McIlroy.
Scheffler has not lifted any trophy since he donned the precious green jacket reserved for the Masters champion in April 2022. The North American started the final lap with a two-stroke lead Jon Rahmwho will also regain world number 1 if he wins the Scottsdale TPCthe city where you live.
Scheffler, Rahm and the Canadian nick taylor, world number 223, played a stellar game in pursuit of the title. The champion was the American as he showed exceptional composure throughout the round, unfazed despite the pressure from Taylor, who was just one shot behind Scottie until the 15th hole.
Rahm, 28, was left with few options when Scheffler birdied the 13th and left the Basque golfer four shots behind. Forced to attack the par 5, Jon went over 15 but managed to save the par and still hold a silver lining.
However, Scheffler delivered the final blow at the 16th, when the American saved par with a great putt and his two rivals made bogeys which gave him more peace of mind to face the final two hole

With an eagle and four birdies without a miss, Scheffler (65) won by two shots ahead of Taylor (65), while Rahm (68) finished 3rd, with five birdies and two bogey.
Rahm is targeting his third title in his last four PGA tournaments after his wins in the Sentry Tournament of Champions and the amexpress, but this Sunday the best version of it didn’t come out. However, he has been top-10 in his first six PGA starts.
