Haaland, very ironic: “I didn’t score for 20 minutes…”

Date:

Erling Haaland, who scored a goal on Wednesday against Arsenal, joked about his scoring drought, which has lasted three games, and confirmed that he now has “20 minutes without scoring”: “I have to keep working.”

Haaland he scored his 26th Premier League goal on Wednesday, equaling the 26 achieved by Sergio Agüero in the 2014/2015 season, which is the record for a footballer in the same season in the Premier League.

However, Haaland has gone three games without scoring since his arrival at the Emirates, a streak that was snapped when he made it 1-3 against the ‘Gunners’.

“It’s been 20 minutes since my last goal… so I have to keep working,” the Norwegian joked to Prime Video, which broadcast the match in the UK.

“It’s been very positive, a very happy celebration and I’m very happy with everything. We needed this win and now we have to keep going, because that’s what Manchester City should do.”

Thanks to the victory, City are the leaders of the Premier, with the same points as Arsenal, who were unbeaten at home all season until this Wednesday.

“I think we all agree that Arsenal have been the best team this season, so to come here and play against them is not easy. We played an incredible game and got three very important points,” the Norwegian admitted.
