Riool is again organizing one of the most important cycling tours in the region this Sunday, the Guerrita Trophy. A total of 196 riders, both national and international, from 28 teams participate in this edition, which is number 32. This is the second of 11 tests that make up the Spanish Cup in the Elite and Under-23 categories.
The race will start at 9:15 am from Avenida Príncipe, at the level of the Jardín de la Constitución, and the finish at the finish is according to the forecasts of the organization, in charge of the Guerrita de Alcantarilla Cycling Club.
The test consists of a route of 166 kilometers, which amounts to two laps of the city circuit, passing Calle Mayor and Avenida Príncipe with a flying target on the second lap, then heading towards Fuente Librilla, towards Barqueros, to return to Sewer through Sangonera la Seca to start the last urban circuit. This last section runs along Avenida Príncipe to the Hero factory and turns onto Calle Mayor until the finish in Jardín de la Constitución.
Joaquín Buendía, mayor of the municipality, pointed out that “the Guerrita Trophy is a tradition and a source of pride for Alcantarilla and for the Region of Murcia, as they have been making cycling history for more than 30 years and turning the streets into a sports festival”. .
Of the 28 participating teams, 23 were called up by the Spanish Association of Organizers of Elite and Under-23 Cycling Events (AEOPCES) to compete in the eleven events of the Spanish Cup.
They are Lizarte, Caja Rural-Alea, Eolo-Kometa, Supermercados Froiz, Gomur-Cantabria Infinita, Aluminios Cortizo, Bicicletas Rodríguez-Extremadura, Quoda Construcciones, Drone Hopper-GSport, Team MP Group, La Tova-Huesca La Magia, Brocar Alé , Telco’m-On Clima-Osés, Ulevel-Safirfruits, Arabay Cycling Friendly Balear, Vigo Rías Baixas, Tenerife Bike Point, Globalia Zamora Enamora, Essax, Previley Maglia, Louriña Cycling Team and the Pemoy and Valverde Team from Murcia.
In addition, the Peña Ciclista Guerrita invited five teams, two of them foreigners, who will fight in this event which was joined last year by Lokosphinx team rider Gleb Syritsa, who made the leap into professional cycling mid-season in the team Astana and who are first victory in the professional field achieved in the Langkawi Tour, in Malaysia.
