The American Carson Young continues to lead the golf tournament this Friday Puerto Rico Open 2023 with fourteen under par (-14), a total of nine under par (-9) of Thursday’s first round and the five under par (-5) taken today at the Grand Reserve Golf Club in Río Grande.
He is followed by Paul Haley with ten under par (-10) who is in second position after moving up five positions thanks to the fact that his round this Friday was six under par (-6).
For his part, Puerto Rican Rafael Campos has a total score of four under par (-4) and is the only Puerto Rican present in the last two rounds.
The Puerto Rico Open, a tournament of the Puerto Rico Golf Association (PRGA) TOUR and part of the FedEx Cup, is one of the largest sporting events on the island and has the participation of 120 players from the PGA circuit.
This year, he has a purse of $3.8 million and 300 FedEx Cup points, with first prize worth $684,000.
Puerto Rican authorities estimate that the tournament will have an economic impact of 10 million dollars on the Caribbean island.
