Alonso-Hamilton, the review of a spectacular overtake

a perfect maneuver

The pilot of Oviedo has shaved more than 4 seconds off his best race pace and after his second stop he found himself just behind Hamilton, with a 4 laps younger tires and better car. He had better weapons and he took advantage of them.

Alonso had to pass Lewis as soon as possible, without losing too much time in that fight or breaking tires. The blow of the ax must be clean. He seemed to get it on his first attempt on lap 37, but the Spaniard’s car gave him a traction whiplash that prevented him from completing the overtake. There, Alonso hit again to try it after.
