Paul Pogba was scheduled to feature in the Juventus-Sampdoria squad tonight, after being subbed last Thursday against Freiburg in the Europa League, but he was finally ruled out due to his eleventh physical setback.
“Paul Pogba is not part of the squad due to a muscle problem he suffered in training this morning,” announced Juventus, announcing the list of 21 players selected by coach Massimiliano Allegri for the match against the bottom team in Serie A.
He returned after the punishment
Pogba never stops being in the news. On Thursday he was called up for the game against Freiburg as a disciplinary measure after arriving at midnight before Juve’s concentration. The delay was not well received by Allegri, who together with the club decided to leave the player in the stands.
Despite this punishment, Allegri assured on Saturday, in the conference before the game against Sampdoria, that Pogba is “available”. The physical failure suffered today is another failure for a player who suffered a knee injury in the preseason, for which he underwent surgery at the beginning of September, and did not play until February 28 after starting his second tour with Juventus last summer at the end of his contract with Manchester United.
In addition to coming on in the second half in the derby against Torino on February 28, Pogba only played the last quarter of an hour of last Sunday’s classic against Roma.
