The Church of the Sacred Hearts in Madrid hosted the funeral mass for Amancio Amaropassed away on February 21. The religious service in memory of the legend of Real Madrid and world football was attended by the president Florentino Perez and members of the Board of Directors of the white club. also attended Emilio ButraguenoDirector of Institutional Relations of Real Madrid, club legends such as Pirri, Emiliano Rodríguez, Martín Vázquez, San José or Solari, among others, in addition to fans and friends, who joined the family of Amancio Amaro.
Amancio, who has died aged 83, played for Real Madrid between 1962 and 1976. A world soccer legend, he led Real Madrid to their 6th European Cup win, scoring a goal in the final. He also won 9 Leagues and 3 Spanish Cups as a player. During his coaching days, he promoted Quinta del Buitre and achieved a historic Second Division championship with Castilla. In October 2022 he was elected honorary president of Real Madrid.
