He Repsol Honda Trial Team land this Saturday Pamplona. The Navarra Arena will host for the first time the X-Trial World Cup and the third round of the season.
The Catalan Tony Bou came to the capital of Navarrese as the leader of the classification after achieving the second position in Austria and the success in the inaugural event at Palau Sant Jordi. The 32-time world champion accumulates 38 points overall and is looking to climb to the top of the podium in Pamplona to consolidate his lead, where he has a five-point advantage over second place.
“For us, having new venues is something fantastic, I am very happy. In Pamplona we will try to fight for victory, we have to be competitive and stay ahead. The most important thing is to go through each round trying not to accumulate too many points. It will be a very tight championship, like in previous years, and any mistake can leave you out of the match. It will be key not to make mistakes, stay focused and make a change if possible”, Bou explained.
The catalan will share the track with the galleo Gabriel Marcelli, which remains in the top 3 after taking second place in Barcelona and fourth place in Wiener Neustadt. “It’s great that different places have been encouraged to organize Trial competitions and hopefully they will have a high-level race. The first two rounds were very tight, in Austria we missed the final by a very narrow margin, so we faced the third round with great enthusiasm. The objective in Pamplona is to fight for the victory and collect as many points as possible to close the gap in the general classification”, pointed out the rider of the Repsol Honda Trial Team.
